Televised Riches: How Much Do Famous Actors In Commercials REALLY Make?!

By  |

When was the last time you were excited to watch a commercial? Short of watching commercials during the Super Bowl, nobody is ever happy when commercials begin to roll. For that reason, companies make sure to hire the best actors possible to sell their products.  Some of these numbers will shock you but all of these numbers will make you want to become a commercial actor!

Today, we are going to take a closer look at 18 of the highest-paid commercial actors in the world.

The Old Spice Guy – $5 Million

Let’s start our list with the biggest spokesman on television right now, the Old Spice Guy Mr. Isaiah Mustafa! Also known as ‘The Man Your Man Could Smell Like’, Mustafa became famous for his timely comedic delivery and his carved-from-stone physique.  Who doesn’t remember the famous, “Look at your husband, now look at me” routine? Before performing in Old Spice commercials, Mustafa had made a name for himself as a football player for the Oilers.

Recently, Mustafa has appeared in major Hollywood projects like It Two and Luke Cage.

The Orbit Gum Girl – $500k

Meet Vanessa Lynn Branch, the Orbit Gum Girl. With a stunning accent and a smile that could blind you, Branch was pivotal in making Orbit Gum one of the biggest chewing gum brands in the 00s. Outside of her work on the Orbit Gum commercials, Branch has been seen in projects like 90210, Little Hercules, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. For over $500k per year, that sounds like a pretty good career!

T-Mobile Girl – $1 Million

For a brief period, Cary Foulkes was one of the toughest looking commercial stars in the world. Known as the T-Mobile Girl, Foulkes would earn more than $1 million per year for her work from 2010 until 2013. Since then, Foulkes has appeared in a smattering of commercials and televised guest appearances. Before she was an actress, Foulkes worked as a fashion model.

Can You Hear Me Now Guy – $9 Million

Can you hear me now? Good! Paul Marcelli became one of the most well-known and (slightly) annoying commercial stars of the early aughts. Since the height of his fame, Marcelli has traded in his work with Verizon to work with Print, a viral company in opposition to Verizon. Marcelli continues to perform today with a string of prominent roles on television in commercials and sketches.

The Maytag Man – $1 Million

Colin Ferguson rose to fame for his work as Sheriff Carter in the television series, Eureka. With that being said, Ferguson probably doesn’t mind if you recognize him from his work as the Maytag Man! Ferguson has earned at least $1 million per year as the buff Maytag Man since taking on the role in 2014. Outside of his work in the Maytag commercials, Ferguson has enjoyed a sprawling television career with over 69 credits to his name.

Lily the AT&T Girl – $500k

Milana Vayntrub is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood. With almost 70 credits to her name including a prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it appears that Vayntrub’s work as Lily the AT&T Girl will be the least of her work. Vayntrub gained instant recognition for her work in the AT&T Commercials as the friendly-if-sarcastic Lily.

Now earning almost half a million per year for her efforts, Lily is primed for longevity in the television world.

Flo From Progressive – $8 Million

Easily one of the most recognizable television stars on the planet, Stephanie Courtney will never have to work again following her role as Flo the Progressive Insurance Saleswoman. With a relentlessly upbeat attitude and a wonderful smile, Stephanie has earned more than $8 million for her efforts as the Progressive Spokesperson. Outside of her work in the Progressive commercials, Stephanie has appeared in Mad Men and The Goldbergs.

ShamWow Spokesman – $2 Million

Vince Offer is about as weird as you would expect a Seen-On-TV salesman to be. Also known as the ShamWow guy, Vince Offer has earned a cool $2 million throughout his television career. Vince spends his free time working as a writer as well as a comedian which is to say that he also tends to make tabloid headlines, as well.

Vince Offer is now known as The InVinceable Guy as he aims to sell a whole new line of Seen-On-TV products.

Dos Equis Beer Spokesman – $1 Million

The Most Interesting Man in the World, Jonathan Goldsmith has earned more than a cool million for his work as an actor. Goldsmith has helped to reinvent what it means to be interesting while simultaneously becoming one of the biggest memes on the internet. Goldsmith’s trek to fame and stardom began in 1963 when he earned his first role on television. From there, Goldsmith would appear in over 350 television shows in his career.

Dell Computer Dude – $50k

Dude, you are getting a Dell! Ben Curtis was born and raised in Tennessee where he practiced magic and acting. After pivoting to a career in show business, Curtis would land a starring role in the Dell Computers commercial series. Unfortunately, Curtis would get busted for buying some marijuana and he would be blacklisted from the industry as a result. Yeah, we know marijuana is legal in L.A. now — nothing makes sense.

The Toyota Girl – $1 Million

Laurel Coppock is more than just her role as the popular Toyota Girl, she is also an incredible performer in narrative work, as well! Coppock rose to fame as an actress in Hollywood with several prominent roles on shows like The Office, Arrested Development, Crazy Stupid Love, and Modern Family. A fountain of enthusiasm and optimism, who wouldn’t want Coppock representing their products?

The GoDaddy Spokesman – $900k

Jesse Heiman is an actor-turned-meme-turned-actor yet again. Heiman is a Boston local who rose to fame thanks to his extensive efforts as a background actor in Hollywood. Heiman would become prolific for his extra work, eventually gaining mainstream attention for his efforts. Heiman’s career highlights would include a kiss with supermodel Bar Rafaelli during Super Bowl XLVII.

The Wendy’s Girl – $3 Million

Has there ever been a performer better suited for their role? Morgan Smith-Goodwin has been the face of the fast-food chain Wendy’s for as long as we can remember. After being raised in Alabama, Smith would move to New York to pursue acting. Before landing her career-changing commercial role, Morgan Smith-Goodwin would land several roles on Broadway!

Classic Pepsi Girl – $333k

With adorable dimples, this child was seemingly born to lead a national television campaign. The Pepsi Girl was prominent throughout the 90s and early 00s and her work would lend itself to other projects. Hallie Eisenberg, the child behind the smile, would find roles in projects like How to Eat Fried Worms and Paulie where here adorable nature would be on prime display.

The AT&T Guy – $250k

While Milana Vayntrub is holding down AT&T’s feminine side, Beck Bennett is doing work on the other end of the spectrum. A Saturday Night Live alumni, Beck Bennett has been one of the funniest and most underrated comedians in the industry for decades. A fan-favorite thanks to his natural comedic timing, Bennett is a rising star in the comedic world thanks in large part to his work with AT&T.

TJ From Sonic Commercials – $300k

Do the Sonic Commercials make you as hungry as they make us? Starring T.J. Jagodowski and Pete Grosz, the newest Sonicfood commercials have been as funny as you could hope for. The two friends have become national stars on the commercial circuit thanks to their efforts, earning more than $300k per year. You can also find TJ in projects like Stranger Than Fiction or the Fox television series, Prison Break.

Mr. Mayhem – $4k Per Airing

Dean Winters is as fantastic an actor as he is a stuntman, so it stands to reason that his Allstate Commercials would become a hit. Mr. Mayehm himself is paid per airing rather than in one lump sum. What does this mean? Well, it means that Mr. Winters is bringing in over $4,750 every time his Allstate Commercial is televised. Before Winters was the Allstate Commercial star, he was a television actor with appearances in Oz, Law & Order: SVU, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Jared Fogle – $15 Million/Incarcerated

Jared Fogle initially rose to fame as one of the calling cards of Subway’s health-focused food offerings. Mr. Fogle became famous as the national spokesman for Subway thanks to his dramatic weight loss efforts, losing nearly 245lbs by eating Subway alone! Unfortunately for the world and Jared’s victims, Mr. Fogle would turn out to be one of the vilest criminals on television. Now in prison for 13 to 15 years, it will be a long time before Jared enjoys Subway again.
